Sam Levitz was recently inducted into the AHFRA Hall of Fame at an event in Las Vegas. The Arizona Home Furnishings Representatives Association (AHFRA), is a chapter of the International Home Furnishings Representatives Association. This was the AHFRA Hall of Fame’s second induction.
On Monday, January 28, 2019, Sam was inducted during the annual Winter Furniture Market. The premiere gift and home market in the West, the seasonal Las Vegas Market offers great value for brands, retailers and interior designers, featuring a vast array of furniture, home décor and gifts. The annual Winter Furniture Market featured some of the furniture industry’s largest furniture companies.
Sam is extremely honored to be the second inductee into the AHFRA Hall of Fame. Since his father opened the first direct-to-you furniture warehouse in Tucson in the 1950’s, the Levitz family has changed the landscape of the furniture business. Since taking over as President in 1991, Sam has grown the business from a single Sam Levitz Furniture store, to multiple brands in 5 locations around Tucson.

With all of his success, Sam loves to give back to the Tucson community. Over the past 10 years under Sam’s direction, the company has donated approximately $200,000 each year to various local charities. In September of 2018, Sam Levitz and lots of other sponsors took part in HungerWalk Tucson, the Food Bank’s big annual signature event that raises a majority of their yearly donations. The Levitz team has been a great sponsor and supporter for years and continues to lend their support to the Food Bank. In December of 2017, Sam Levitz partnered with other local organizations in the Blocks for Beds program in an effort to achieve their goal of providing as many families with mattresses as possible.
The Levitz family donated furniture to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tucson for the past several years, to update and refurnish teen lounges in several Boys and Girls Club locations. The donation included sectionals sofas, chairs, and benches for the lounge areas, stools and desk chairs for the computer areas, tables and chairs, and art and accessories, all just in time for the clubhouse’s summer youth programs.
For many years, Sam Levitz Furniture has supported the local community by donating more than $15,000 yearly to Tu Nidito, a local non-profit organization that gives comfort and guidance to children and families in grief. In 2017, The Levitz family updated their teen lounge with new furniture and accessories. Sam Levitz and Mr. An teamed up in 2018 to hold a holiday drive to Tu Nidito, raising over $200,000!
Sam Levitz continues the tradition of making community contributions: on March 7th, in Phoenix, the AHFRA presented Sam with a $15,000 check. He donated the funds to City of Hope for prostate cancer research.
