Tucson, Arizona – July 18, 2018 – Pima Federal Credit Union (Pima Federal) is pleased to announce that its 6th Annual Pima Federal Golf Classic raised $50,000. Through its partnership with Tucson Values Teachers (TVT) school supplies will be provided to local teachers for their classrooms this school-year via $50 gift cards compliments of Pima Federal. Katie Rogerson, Chief Operations Officer for TVT stated, “Pima Federal Credit Union is the largest community investor in the annual Tucson Supplies Teachers supply drive. TVT is fundraising to match Pima Federal’s $50,000 donation to support teachers who register for assistance. The supply drive is a great way for our community to show support and appreciation for teachers, and we’re grateful for Pima Federal taking the lead. As a credit union founded by teachers, Pima Federal understands the critical role of teachers in the success of students and our future.”
Since its founding, Pima Federal has remained dedicated to supporting education and recognizes that far too many teachers spend money out of their own pockets for their classrooms. In 2013 the Golf Classic was created with a goal of raising funds to help local teachers purchase the needed school supplies. Since its inception, $367,000 has been raised through this event and Pima Federal looks forward to continuing its efforts for years to come. This important fund raising event aligns directly with Pima Federal’s common purpose of helping others.
Pima Federal Chief Marketing Officer, Angi Griffin stated, “The Pima Federal Golf Classic is a great annual event that brings our business partners, staff, and community together to help our teachers purchase supplies for their classrooms, which ultimately contributes to the success of our kids’ education. We love that we can host an event that is so much fun for participants while embodying the essence of the credit union philosophy of People Helping People.”
Pima Federal would like to thank their partners, sponsors, guests, media partners, and the community for their dedicated support to the Golf Classic.
Teachers who would like to request a $50 gift card to purchase school supplies may do so by visiting TVT’s website at www.tucsonvaluesteachers.org.
